UK reaches top of peak oil curve, rest of world to shortly follow

The Independent: Geoffrey Lean writes about the global demand for oil, and how the UK government has quietly released a document confirming a decrease trend in North Sea oil production.In otherwords, the peak oil event, the point as which oil production starts to decrease, has been and gone for the UK. For the first time in 30 years, the UK is not a net exporter of oil. The rest of the world is expected to reach its peak oil point sometime between 2010 and 2035 says Lean.
