Northern Echo: Five physics students from Teesdale School in Barnard Castle, UK, won the Nissan Rose Bowl for their six-month project exploring wind power. They studied how wind turbines work and visited Newcastle University to design a prototype. The competition was sponsored by the Engineering Education Scheme at the university.
For the UNESCO section chief, “striking a balance between global coherence and respect for national ownership and cultural diversity is both essential and complex.”
